Nippattu rice crackers
Nippattu is a popular dry snack from the state of Karnataka. It is tasty and can be eaten anytime.

Ingredients

cup
rice flour
1
tablespoon
roasted groundnut
1
tablespoon
split dahlia
1
tbsp
desiccated coconut

teaspoon
chilly powder
salt to taste

tablespoon
warm oil
oil for frying
water for kneading
Instructions
Keep all the ingredients ready.
Remove the skin of the groundnuts, coarsely grind it along with split dahlia and desiccated coconut.
Add all dry ingredients to the flour.
Heat oil in a pan, once it is heated add one tablespoon oil to this.
Mix well. Add little water and mix it to a stiff dough.
Take a small ball of the dough. Grease a thick plastic sheet with a little oil. Make it into a circular disc.
Repeat for a few more, you can fry six at a time (of course depending on the size of the pan)
Slowly, let the discs into the oil. Deep fry on medium heat, after sometime, increase it for sometime and then reduce. It should be golden in colour.
Remove them on an absorbent paper.
After sometime, store them in a container.
Notes
The crackers should be neither too thick or too thin. If they are thick, they tend to be soft while very thin ones become hard to eat.
