How to make Dahi Vada
Written by Jayashree

Dahi vada is a popular snack usually served during parties and celebrations. The fried dumplings made of urad dal are immersed in curd and served, make a good accompaniment with any meal. It is known as Dahi Balle in North India.

The affair with dahi vada is a long one, it’s been my favourite since childhood and now my hubby and children too love it. The vadas are made of urad dal and taste good by itself. Idli-vada is a popular combination in South India which is cherished by all. Sambar and chutney are the main accompaniments. The same vadas are dunked in curd and garnished with seasoning and other condiments.

Dahi vada is one of my favorites. It looks delicious and super soft. I learned after a few tries, dahi will be absorbed properly only if vada is light and fluffy. Great recipe 👍

My all time favorite is dahi vada, in fact made some just yesterday. I usually don’t add chopped curry leaves and coconut to the vada batter. Interesting suggestion, would love to try it.

Dahi Wada is one of the non-spicy chat items that I love eating at all the chat counters during the wedding season. It tastes even better when topped with a garnish of coriander leaves. It is soothing to the stomach and is usually served cold. Thanks for sharing the recipe here for the readers.
