Everyone dreads summer. The three months looks too long, frequent power cuts, scorching heat, water problem and not to mention, it is vacation time, with kids at home. Cooking seems tedious. I have compiled some of the recipes from the blog here as ” Summer Delights“. I hope you like this effort of mine.

Here are a few tips to beat the heat this summer:
Drink plenty of water. The body dehydrates due to excessive heat, sweating and urination.
Avoid deep-fried food, especially in the afternoon.
Take more fruits and vegetables.
Cucumber, one can eat plenty of it. It consists 90% of water.
Consume seasonal fruits, they are easier to get and cheaper. Watermelon, grapes, mangoes, oranges are available in plenty.
Go easy on banana. It is healthy ad packed with nutrition.
Yoghurt, lassi, buttermilk are your friends, keep away from aerated drinks.
One can make a slight variation to their regular meals. Here are few recipes that you can consider as Summer Delights.
Idli is steamed food. No oil is required . It is ideal breakfast for summer. Here are three kinds of Idli. 1) Ragi Idli or Finger millet Idli 2) Mallige Idli 3) kanchipuram Idli
Ragi or Finger millet is one of the healthiest food in the world.
These idli are soft and supple. Do give a try, I am sure you will not be disappointed.
When the usual idli batter remains in the refrigerator, turn it into tasty Kanchipuram Idli.
A refreshing drink to indulge during summer. It is made with tender coocnut water.
Learn to play around with mangoes. Isn’t it the season of mangoes?
